Japanese Tradition and Natural Materials, Reimagined for Today
This bag features Katsushika Hokusai’s iconic masterpiece, “The Great Wave off Kanagawa,” printed on a thinly sliced layer of natural walnut wood.
The distinctive grain of the walnut remains visible beneath the artwork, bringing Hokusai’s dramatic waves and Mount Fuji together with the natural beauty of the wood.
Because every piece of natural wood has its own unique grain and character, no two bags are exactly alike.
The reverse side is crafted from black washi tatami, offering a refined and understated contrast.
The gussets feature Nishijin-ori, one of Japan’s most celebrated traditional textiles, using fabric traditionally made for kimono.
The edges of the bag are carefully finished with genuine leather trim, creating a refined transition between the different materials while adding an elegant finishing touch to the overall design.
The handles are made from black waxed cord with a distinctive three-dimensional braided texture.
With an inner handle circumference of approximately 46 cm (18.1 in), the bag can be carried by hand or worn comfortably over the shoulder by many men and women.
Inside, a vibrant Japanese-patterned fabric adds another element of traditional beauty, complemented by a convenient zippered pocket.
Even when the bag is opened, the craftsmanship and Japanese aesthetic continue throughout the design.
Natural walnut. Washi tatami. Nishijin textile. Genuine leather.
Bringing together natural materials and the beauty of Japanese tradition, each bag is carefully handcrafted one by one by artisans in our Kyoto workshop.

About the Natural Materials
Because this bag is crafted using natural wood, genuine leather, and woven textiles, variations in wood grain, color, texture, and appearance are to be expected.
Natural walnut, in particular, has its own distinctive grain patterns and variations in tone, making each piece unique.
These differences are not imperfections, but part of the individual character and beauty of natural materials.

Care Instructions
• This bag is crafted from delicate materials, including natural wood and woven textiles. Please avoid contact with sharp objects and excessive friction, as these may cause scratches, abrasion, or damage to the surface.
• Exposure to water or rain may cause staining, color transfer, warping, or other changes to the materials. If the bag becomes wet, gently blot away moisture with a soft cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
• Because natural wood, genuine leather, and woven textiles are used, variations in wood grain, color, and texture will occur from piece to piece.
• To preserve the beauty of your bag for years to come, store it away from direct sunlight, excessive heat, and high humidity.
