This bag incorporates Washi Tatami, a material actually used as an architectural and interior material in Japanese homes, hotels, and other spaces.

Made from coated and woven washi paper, it offers excellent durability and water resistance compared with traditional igusa rush tatami. It is also designed to help inhibit mold and the proliferation of dust mites. Its surface resists the absorption of moisture and dirt, making it easier to maintain its beautiful appearance.

Different Japanese Materials, Different Expressions

The front features art embroidery depicting a vivid red koi.

The back is crafted from simple, plain black Washi Tatami, with minimal decoration.

The richly detailed embroidery and the quiet, refined texture of black Washi Tatami create two distinctly different expressions on the front and back, allowing the character of the bag to change depending on the viewing angle.

Japanese-patterned fabric is used for the gusset, adding a subtle decorative accent to the bag’s three-dimensional silhouette.

The interior is finished with Nishijin textile, carrying on Kyoto’s centuries-old textile tradition.
