This tote bag brings Tatami, one of Japan’s traditional materials, into contemporary style.

The front and back are crafted from plain black Washi Tatami, without additional patterns or decoration.

The subtle expression created by its woven structure and the distinctive texture of Washi Tatami itself give the bag a minimalist aesthetic that feels both distinctly Japanese and naturally suited to contemporary fashion.

The gusset is crafted from Nishijin textile, one of Japan’s most renowned traditional woven textiles.

The contrast between the understated black Washi Tatami and the richly detailed Nishijin textile revealed from different angles adds a subtle expression of traditional Japanese beauty.

The edges are finished with genuine leather, elegantly connecting the different materials while giving the overall design a refined and sophisticated finish.

The handles are made from black waxed cord with a distinctive three-dimensional braided texture.

With an inner handle circumference of approximately 46 cm / 18.1 in, the bag can be carried by hand or, depending on body type and clothing, worn over the shoulder.

In contrast to the minimalist black exterior, the interior features a vibrant Japanese-patterned fabric and includes an inner zippered pocket.

The colorful Japanese design revealed when the bag is opened is another distinctive element of this piece.
