Where the natural beauty of wood meets contemporary art.

EN is an art bag featuring a bold graphic composition in red, black, and white, printed onto a thinly sliced panel of natural wood.

The design, composed of striking circles and lines, is printed while preserving the distinctive grain and natural character of the wood.

Unlike printing on conventional fabric, the natural wood grain remains visible beneath the artwork, creating a unique sense of depth, texture, and expression.

The piece is named “EN,” inspired by the distinctive circular forms within the design.

Every sheet of natural wood has its own unique grain, tone, and character. As a result, even when the same artwork is used, no two finished bags will look exactly alike.

The back of the bag is crafted from black washi tatami, creating a refined and understated contrast to the expressive natural wood artwork on the front.

The side gussets feature Nishijin textile, one of Japan’s most celebrated traditional woven textiles.

Different materials and expressions can be enjoyed from the front, back, and sides of the bag.

The edges are finished with genuine leather, elegantly connecting the different materials while giving the overall design a refined and structured appearance.

The bag features distinctive rounded wooden handles.

The handles are positioned so that they do not cover the main artwork on the front, allowing the natural wood panel to be appreciated like a framed piece of art while still functioning as a bag.

The interior is finished with a decorative Japanese-patterned fabric and includes an inner zippered pocket.

Even when the bag is opened, the interior reflects the Japanese sense of aesthetics and attention to craftsmanship.

About the Materials

This piece combines several different materials, including natural wood, washi tatami, Nishijin textile, and genuine leather.

Because natural wood is used, each piece has individual variations in grain, color, tone, and surface texture.

As a result, even when the same artwork is printed, the appearance of the wood grain creates subtle differences from one bag to another.

Washi tatami may also reveal subtle variations in texture and appearance depending on the angle and lighting.

The placement of the Nishijin textile pattern and the color and texture of the genuine leather may also vary slightly from piece to piece.

These variations are natural characteristics of the materials and the handcrafted production process, making each bag individually unique.

Care Instructions

・Avoid prolonged storage in direct sunlight or in hot and humid environments.
・Protect the bag from rain and moisture. If it becomes wet, gently remove moisture with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
・Avoid strong impacts, pressure, and contact with sharp objects, as these may damage the natural wood, washi tatami, Nishijin textile, or genuine leather.
・Take particular care to avoid snagging or excessive friction on the Nishijin textile.
・Natural wood and genuine leather may gradually change in color and texture over time. Please enjoy these changes as part of the natural aging process of the materials.
・When not in use, store the bag in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.

Made-to-Order & Production Time

This piece is currently available on a made-to-order basis.

Each bag is individually crafted after your order is placed. Please allow approximately one month for production before shipment.

If an item is immediately available, it will be indicated as “In Stock” on the product page.

Please note that because natural wood is used, even bags made with the same design and specifications will not have exactly the same wood grain, color, or natural appearance as the item shown in the photographs.

Production time may vary slightly depending on the current workshop schedule.
