Natural wood, kimono fabric, and Washi Tatami.
Distinctive Japanese materials with contrasting textures and expressions come together in this compact shoulder bag.
The front features an art design printed directly onto natural wood, allowing the natural grain of the wood to become part of the artwork itself.
Kimono fabric is incorporated diagonally into the design, creating a single art surface where the natural grain of the wood meets the rich texture of Japanese textile.
The back features black Washi Tatami arranged diagonally, combined with kimono fabric along another diagonal line.
By bringing together the finely woven texture of Washi Tatami and the refined character of kimono fabric through angled lines rather than conventional straight divisions, the design reveals different expressions depending on the viewing angle.
The side gusset is finished in sophisticated black Nishijin textile.
The interior features a purple Japanese-patterned fabric, revealing another distinctly Japanese expression when the bag is opened.
The shoulder strap is crafted from genuine leather and can be adjusted to seven different lengths, allowing the bag to be worn either over the shoulder or crossbody.
Despite its compact dimensions of approximately 18 cm / 7.1 in in width and 16 cm / 6.3 in in height, the bag offers approximately 7.5 cm / 3.0 in of depth for practical everyday storage.
Weighing only approximately 270 g / 0.60 lb, it is exceptionally lightweight and comfortable to carry.
Natural Wood × Kimono Fabric × Washi Tatami × Nishijin Textile × Genuine Leather.
Japanese materials and contemporary design come together in a compact shoulder bag, individually and carefully crafted in Kyoto.

Washi Tatami — A Unique Japanese Material
This bag incorporates “Washi Tatami,” a material actually used as tatami flooring in Japanese homes, hotels, and other interiors.
Made from coated and woven washi-based material, it offers greater durability and water resistance than traditional igusa rush tatami. It is also designed to help resist mold and the proliferation of dust mites, while making it more difficult for moisture and dirt to penetrate the surface.
Tatami has long been an essential part of traditional Japanese living spaces. RAKUHOKU JAPAN brings this traditional material into a contemporary lifestyle by transforming it into part of a modern bag.
The delicate woven texture and distinctive character of Washi Tatami become part of the design, while its practical qualities are incorporated into an item intended for everyday use.

About the Materials
This piece combines a variety of materials, including Washi Tatami, natural wood, kimono fabric, Nishijin textile, and genuine leather.
Each piece of natural wood has its own unique grain, color, and character.
The placement and appearance of the kimono fabric pattern may vary slightly depending on where the fabric is cut.
The pattern placement of the Nishijin textile used on the side gusset may also vary slightly from piece to piece depending on the section of fabric used.
As genuine leather is a natural material, variations in color, grain, texture, and surface character may also occur.
These variations are inherent characteristics of natural materials and individually crafted production. We invite you to appreciate them as part of the unique character of each individual bag.

Care Instructions
• Avoid prolonged storage in direct sunlight or in hot and humid environments.
• Take care to protect the bag from water and rain. If it becomes wet, gently remove moisture with a soft, dry cloth and allow it to air-dry naturally in a well-ventilated area.
• Avoid strong impacts, excessive pressure, and contact with sharp objects, as these may damage the natural wood, Washi Tatami, kimono fabric, Nishijin textile, or genuine leather.
• Take particular care to avoid snagging or excessive friction on the kimono fabric and Nishijin textile areas.
• Genuine leather and natural wood may gradually change in color and texture over time. Please enjoy these changes as part of the natural aging process of the materials.
• When not in use, store the bag in a dry, well-ventilated place away from direct sunlight.
